Angry after a row over the fare, a bus driver on Wednesday allegedly ran over 17 passengers, soon after they alighted from the vehicle, crushing to death seven of them in Karauli district of Rajasthan. Ten others were injured in the incident, which occurred at College Road on Wednesday morning in Karauli, 160 kms from Jaipur. All the victims were from Agra, Superintendent of Police Omprakash said.

In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl was set ablaze by a relative in Japur, who was apparently enraged with her being 'scantily dressed' and wearing a lipstick, police said on Saturday. The girl identified as Nazmeen suffered 90 per cent burns and was stated to be in a critical condition, Investigating Officer Shammi Khan said.
The owner of SamorBagh restaurant in Udaipur, Kamal Joshi told the police on Friday that a person resembling the sketch, released on Thursday night, was seen in his restaurant on Sunday evening. He said that the man was accompanied by a young woman and both of them came to the restaurant at about 4 pm on Sunday. Gujjar agitators continued the blockade of many rail and road routes in Rajasthan and jammed the Jaipur-Ajmer highway on Monday as their agitation over the issue of reservations in jobs entered the eighth day.
